As we had previously told you that pod2g’s team released the CLI tool that is a more sophisticated way of jailbreaking your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 untethered running on iOS 5 or iOS 5.0.1 and now we are posting a simple guide that will allow you to carry out the task on Windows. It is different and is not as easy as hitting the jailbreak button.

Note: Don’t copy paste the commands in CMD but type them else you will run into errors.

Step 1: Download CLI Absinthe Tool for both Windows and Mac OS X by clicking here.

Step 2: Now unzip the folder named cinject_0.4.3 into the system folder, i.e. C:\.

Step 3: Now connect your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 to your computer.

Step 4:  Head over to start menu and click on run and type cmd.exe. (CMD + RUN)

Step 5: Now in the command windows type: CD C:\cinject_0.4.3 as shown to get into the required folder.

Step 6: Now you have to execute CLI which you can do by typing cinject.exe -i payloads/jailbreak.mobileconfig Your iPad or iPhone screen will prompt for installation.

Step 7: Tap install and you will be asked for password. Hit Next and Tap on Done to finish the installation.

Step 8: Execute cinject.exe -j payloads and wait for the backup.

Step 9: Now execute cinject.exe -w.

Step 10: Get inside your device and tap on Absinthe icon to finish your jailbreak process.

This completes the process and we know this is a bit complicated but if you have any questions don’t forget to ask.

Possible Errors and Fixes:

  • For FATAL(_LINE_) error head over to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content And Settings. Once done, go back to step 1 and carry out the whole process again.
  • For Camera Roll error run the jailbreak twice.
  • For Error Establishing Database Connection go to Settings -> General -> Network -> VPN and change to ON.
