Root Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFI (GT-P7510) [How to]

Recently we wrote a post on how to root GT-P7500. This post follows on how to root GT-P7510, or in easy words, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFI.

Note: Before you proceed with rooting your Galaxy Tab, it is important to be aware that the team at technoflames takes no responsibility, what-so-ever, arising during or after applying the method. Please also note that the device warranty status will void in an attempt of rooting process. So be careful and plan before proceeding.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE :

  • Download the package from:

  • Unzip the file after you have downloaded it into any empty folder in your PC.
  • Following files will pop up after extraction:
    > GT-p7510_USB_Driver_v1_3_2360_0-Escape.exe
    > hc-3.1_ota-full_sam_tab_10.1.zip (Stock ROM) — This should be copied to tablet’s internal storage to create a backup of your stock ROM in case you plan to revert back
    > Odin3_v1.85.exe
    > recovery-cwm_4.0.0.4-sam-tab-10.1.tar.md5
    > stockretail.tar.md5 (stock recovery)
    > Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_root.zip
  • Install GT-p7510_USB_Driver_v1_3_2360_0-Escape.exe for installing all the necessary USB drivers
  • Remember to enable USB debugging mode in your tablet.
  • Turn the tablet off then perform a reboot into download by following this way: Hold Volume Down + Power button together. Release these buttons once your display shows two icons. Navigate to the Download Mode by pressing Volume Up button.
  • Run Odin3 on PC and connect the tablet to the PC using your USB cable.
  • Click the PDA button in Odin3
  • Load recovery-cwm_4.0.0.4-sam-tab-10.1.tar.md5
  • Check Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time under Option only leaving the remaining UN-checked.
  • Click the Start button in Odin3.
  • Wait for Odin3 to tell you the process has been successful.
  • Once done Reboot the tablet and disconnect it from PC.
  • Turn off USB Debugging mode in the tablet.
  • Connect the tablet to PC again and select USB Mass Storage option.
  • Copy Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_root.zip to your tablet and remember the location where you have copied the file.
  • Disconnect the tablet again from the PC and turn it off.
  • Reboot into recovery using the following method again: Press Volume Down + Power button together until you see two icons on your screen.
  • Choose the recovery option.
  • Select Install zip from sdcard >> Choose zip from sdcard and select Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_root.zip from the location where you placed it.
  • Confirm flashing the ZIP files now.
  • Once done, reboot into normal mode and you have completed the rooting process.
