How to Untether Jailbreak Your iPhone 4S and iPad 2 With Absinthe for Windows [Guide]
By
As promised we are now revealing you the guide to untether jailbreak your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 running on iOS 5 or iOS 5.0.1 using Windows. Previously the jailbreak was compatible only for Mac users but then pod2g’s team released the jailbreak for Windows but it had to be done using a CLI tool. However, now Absinthe for Windows is out and all you have to do is to follow the simple guide shown after the break:
Note: If you are an iPad 2 user make sure that your iOS device is on iOS 5.0.1 and if you are an iPhone 4S user make sure you are running either iOS 5 or iOS 5.0.1. You can check your firmware from Settings -> General -> About.
Step 1: Download Absinthe for Windows by clicking here.
Step 2: Unzip the file and run it as an administrator.

Step 3: Now connect your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 to the computer via a USB cable.
Step 4: After that, wait till Absinthe recognizes which device is connect and once it recognizes all you have to do is to click the jailbreak button.

Step 5: Do not unplug your iOS device while the process is going on and also ensure that the program also doesn’t close. Once the process completes go the device’s home screen and find the Absinthe icon. Click it and let the device do the rest on its own.

Step 6: The device will reboot and upon completion you will see the Cydia icon in the place where you saw Absinthe’s icon first.

Possible Errors and Fixes:
- For FATAL(_LINE_) error head over to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content And Settings. Once done, go back to step 1 and carry out the whole process again.
- For Camera Roll error run the jailbreak twice.
- For Error Establishing Database Connection go to Settings -> General -> Network -> VPN and change to ON.
You should not encounter any problems as the guide is quite straight forward. If you still run into problems don’t forget to leave a comment below. Also if you are interested in carrying out the process in Mac click here for the complete guide or if you want to try out CLI tool which we will recommend you not to use now as this is more easier than that click here.
